This state map represents an accurate (+/- 1 month) view of where Text-to-911 is supported. If the county is yellow, we do not enable the Text-to-911 feature in the app as we cannot be 100% sure the text will make it to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) also known as a 911 Call Center.
There are some states that support statewide Text-to-911. This leads to some confusion as individual PSAPs may support the Text-to-911 feature and other do not, yet the entire state is painted green since all Text messages going to 911 are pooled in a central location and then distributed to the appropriate local PSAP.
Counties that are green indicates all PSAPs support Text-to-911
Counties that are yellow indicates some PSAPs support Text-to-911
Counties that are red indicates none of the PSAPs support Text-to-911
